Indonesian Tradition, Kasodo Ceremony


Indonesian Tradition,  Kasodo Ceremony - We're all familiar with Mount Bromo. As we all know that in the area around Mount Bromo there are people who still holds the tradition of their ancestors. This Society is often called as the Tengger tribe, which equated to Mount Bromo district where it is located. Most of the people around Bromo is a Hindu who still maintain their ancestral culture. Such as Indonesian Tradition,  Kasodo Ceremony also was one of the tribal traditions still held strong by Tengger society. Ii story about giving ceremony or ritual offerings to their ancestors worshiped. The ceremony is held every month Kasada the 14th day.


The ceremony was started when the story of the daughter of King Anteng Roro and Joko Seger Majapahit a Brahmin's son married and have children soon. Tengger tribe name itself is taken from the name of the final two figures above that Teng and Ger.

At the time the last child Kesuma Anteng Roro and Joko Seger terjilat fire and into the crater of Mount Bromo. Together incident heard a voice saying that Kesuma sacrificed to save the perch. So on every month Kasada on the 14th day tradition forged Indonesia, Kasodo ceremony to worship the Exalted Widhi in the crater of Mount Bromo.


Such was the origin of a main Indonesian Tradition,  Kasodo Ceremony. Due to give offerings to the deity Tengger community residents also held a ceremony to reject Kasodo danger. As Hindus, Tengger tribe unlike Hindus in general, have temples as places of worship, but when doing worship housed in punden, danyang and potent.
