Central Kalimantan Traditional Dance

Central Kalimantan Traditional Dance - Kalimantan island does have a variety of traditions, customs, arts, dance and various rituals that are still attached and closely with the daily life. All these activities will invite admiration for the people who first came on the this island. No wonder many foreigners who travel there for a vacation or just settle for a while doing research or observations about the daily life of the community. There are also many types of Central Kalimantan Traditional Dance which still exist today.


One of the many Central Kalimantan Traditional Dance is well known dance manasai. This dance is a dance that symbolizes joy. This dance is usually performed to welcome arrival guests of government. Bottom line dance "welcome" to guests who visit to Borneo. This dance is also usually shown at the cultural festival Mulang Isen is an event held each year organized by the local government and supported by the department of tourism and related agencies, the goal is to attract tourists to visit as well as introduce and preserve local culture so that people outside area also understand the culture of other regions. It will enrich and strengthen the national culture of Indonesia.

Central Kalimantan Traditional Dance  manasai than shown on festival culture can also be found on the daily lives of its people. In a traditional wedding, for instance. Dance manasai usually preferred by young people to the elderly. Dancers usually surrounds several large size jars with fabric bahalai in circle. The dancers will dance gracefully around the jars for a few rounds with the song Accompanied karungut. Dancers will stop until the song that played karungut completed. While dancing there is usually one person who gave a glass of "Baram" (intoxicating drinks in Kalimantan) to each dancer. Surely that is not accustomed to this drink will cause headaches and be intoxicated by it.


Central Kalimantan Traditional Dance Manasai usually traditional dresses, bahalai (shawl), cloth tied around the head and then in sisipi Feather Bird Tingang (Feather Bird Engrang). All of it as a complement to dance manasai. Everything that has meaning for those who understand, especially the elders. However, many young people still do not understand or even know about the tradition in the region. This lack of awareness of the younger generation to learn and explore more about my own culture, including people.


But even so, not all young people who do not care about that. The proof is still many studios Central Kalimantan Traditional Dance stand up and there is still much to learn about the local dances. This proves that there is still concerned about the potential that exist in parts of Indonesia and need to be developed further in order not to get lost in the current era of modernization swallow. The public can make use of technology and information to support the development of the arts that exist in these areas. Do not let the art sink area because of modernization, it is what it upside down and wrong.
